Our goal is to make the Peter Burr Living History Farm a cross between a museum, theater,
school, and amusement park.
Once restored, you will be able to enjoy the Peter Burr House as a rare architectural treasure. It
will also serve as a stage where you can watch interpreters relive the past and where you can
participate in their experience.
The Farm will also house seminars, concerts, and workshops. It will be a place where you can
enjoy a traditional home-cooked meal, buy the wares of local craftsmen, and purchase fresh,
locally grown produce.
Just as important, the Peter Burr Living History Farm will be a place where you can learn about
the past, present, and future of Jefferson County agriculture. Agriculture is our oldest industry.
The Burr Farm has been a fixture of this area for more than 250 years, and settlers tilled the land
here for at least a generation before that.
Farming has had a profound influence on our way of
life, and it will be profoundly influenced by local growth, the economy, and the environment.
