The
Jefferson County Historic Landmarks Commission is creating a living history farm that will
include the Peter Burr House, the oldest standing wood frame structure in West Virginia.
The 2001 lecture series familiarized the public and volunteers with many aspects of
our heritage by exploring life on Peter Burr's 1790's farm. The Landmarks Commission's
Living History Committee will be putting together a yearful of fun and informative
presentations for the year 2001.
Meetings are held on the second Thursday of
each Month at the Planning Commission meeting room (two doors down from the Court House)
in Charles Town. Lectures and workshops will be held from 7:30 to 9 pm. The Committee meets
from 7 to 7:30 pm to swap information and plan activities. Both sessions are free and open to
the public.
