Acquisition
and Restoration of the Jefferson County Alms House
Built in 1813 as a plantation home, "Snow Hill" was converted into
the county "Poor House" in 1858. One of the property owners has offered
this National Register site to the Landmarks Commission. Red tape
has slowed acquisition and repairs are sorely needed.
Archeology at the Peter Burr Site
Archeology for the year will focus on the Peter Burr Farm to complement
restoration efforts.
Construction
of 18th Century Bread Oven
