Aspen Pool Barn, ca. 1820

Located near Shepherdstown on land originally owned by Thomas Shepherd, this circa 1820 wooden bank barn is a well preserved example of a type frequently constructed in Jefferson County in the early 19th century.  The structure is part of an active cattle farm.

The old stone house, which serves as a residence commands a view of lovely rural landscape, is an example of pre-Revolutionary construction.
